What social media channels do people use to receive content and information about sports?

In the Center’s study of sports fan behavior and media use that surveyed those who watch or follow at least one sport in season, the most popular social media channels were Facebook and YouTube. Sixty-seven percent of respondents cited Facebook and 44% YouTube.

The next most popular were Twitter (34%) and Instagram (26%). They were followed by Snapchat, which was used by 10%.

Also in the mix were Pinterest (4%), Reddit (4%), and Tumblr (3%).

Seven percent cited other sites, and 13% replied that they use no social media channels at all to get sports-related content and information.
