Web Insight 141xxx: are you satisfied with your bank?

Though most people are satisfied with their primary bank, a large number of people would consider switching from that bank under the right circumstances.

In the Center’s Future of Money and Banking Study, 56 percent of respondents (each of whom was of age 18 or more and had at least one bank account) said that they were very satisfied with their primary bank, and another 26 percent said they were somewhat satisfied.

Nevertheless, 46 percent said that they would consider switching from their primary bank.

The top three reasons given for being willing to switch banks were lower account fees and/or a better interest rate (given by 63% of respondents who said they were willing to move), a better array of online and mobile services (33%), and a closer physical location (29%).
