Associate Director

Schramm brings to the position an extensive background in management of public relations and independent film production companies as well as private foundations. After earning a B.A. in sociology from New York University, she began her career at The Rowland Company in New York. At Rowland, the fourth largest independent public relations firm in the U.S., she progressed from a position as public relations assistant to tour publicist to office manager of the company. Schramm worked closely with and coordinated special events for major clients, such as Cheseborough-Pond’s, Procter & Gamble, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Eastman Kodel. After moving to Los Angeles, she managed operations for companies and foundations owned by leading figures in the worlds of public policy and entertainment.

 

In her current capacity, Schramm serves as chief operations and financial officer for the Center. She is in charge of all administrative functions including budget planning and ledger reconciliation, contracts and grants administration, expenditure and reimbursement management, purchasing, development activities, gift processing, human resources and day-to-day operations of the Center. In addition, she is responsible for the coordination of the international partners in the World Internet Project.

She also performs a major role in the organization of national conferences and other high-profile projects involving important multimedia and communication policy issues. She was conference coordinator for the Advocacy Groups and the Entertainment Industry conference in 1997, the Surveying the Digital Future Internet conference in 2000 and the On-line Communities Retreat in 2005.
